 Aids for Driving Instructors Teaching Disabled Students

Thanks to our recent partnership with Problem Management Engineering we are now very proud to offer a variety of Driving Aids for drivers with various disabilities.

​

With the recent roll out of the NDIS people living with a disability are now receiving government funding for vehicle modification and driving lessons.

We believe its only fair that people living with a disability have the same opportunities to learn how to drive that everyone else does.

​

Check out some of these simple products that assist people in getting their freedom and independence back. Fitting some of these modifications can open up a whole new client base, its a win win scenario!

Please be aware that some of these products require that your license has special endorsements by your State Motor Authority. If you have any questions regarding this please do not hesitate to contact us.

Disability Aids

Suitable for a wide range of disabilities including amputees, stroke victims, brain injuries and birth conditions. The Spinner knob can assist a driver with use of only one arm or limited hand function to maintain the best control of the steering wheel.

The Spinner Knob can be easily removed at the press of a button, Its clamp is designed to fit snugly over the steering wheel with out damaging it.

​

There are a variety of Spinner Knobs to suit each individual's needs.

Spinner Knobs
RF360 Easy-Spin

The RF360 Easy-Spin allows for true one handed control of the vehicles steering and accessories.

​

Following the same principle as the Spinner knobs but with built in functionality of wirelessly controlling the vehicles accessories such as indicators, high-beams, horn and wipers.

Negates the need for indicator extensions or extra switches.

Quick Release Left Foot Accelerator

As with the Spinner Knobs, the Quick Release Left Foot Accelerator accommodates for similar disabilities such as amputees, stroke victims, brain injuries and birth conditions. If right foot/leg function is impaired the Quick Release Left Foot Accelerator can be easily fitted, retaining the operation of the original brake pedal. It is designed to be fitted to vehicles with organ style pedals (Floor mounted). The original accelerator pedal is covered by an integrated foot plate to prevent unintentional application of the accelerator.

The Quick Release Left Foot Accelerator can be used in conjunction with a Spinner Knob where there is impairment in one side of the body.

Folding Left Foot Accelerator

Designed for vehicles fitted with a conventional accelerator pedal (mounted from above). The Folding Left Foot Accelerator is a vehicle specific custom made product designed for maximum convenience. As with the Quick Release Left Foot Accelerator, it is suitable for use with a multitude of disabilities that affect the use of the right leg/foot.

 

The standard pedal can be easily folded into an upright position safe from unintentional use. The Left Foot Accelerator is simply folded down from its stowed position and ready for use. This action can be performed in a matter of seconds.

The Folding Left Foot Accelerator can be used in conjunction with a Spinner Knob where there is impairment in one side of the body.

Wide View Mirrors

Give your students the best chance to learn about spacial awareness and how important it is to check your blindspot. Our wide view auxiliary

mirrors allow for a much larger viewing area inspiring more confidence when reversing or lane changing.

With easy and universal fitting, this cost effective improvement makes all the difference for student drivers.

Pedal Extensions for the Short Statured

Quick Release Pedal extensions and a raised floor can be fitted in minutes to allow Short Statured students to drive your vehicle. Depending on the severity of their disability a booster seat or cushion may also be required.

This is a custom made vehicle specific item that is made in-house to the highest standard.

Once again this allows for those living with disability the same opportunity to learn how to drive that everyone deserves.
